HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP SOFTBALL LEAGUE

Dear Family,

Welcome to the fourth season of the Haverford Township Softball League. The Board of Directors and our coaches are looking forward to another successful season for the HTSL. You may visit our website www.htsoftball.org to learn more about our organization and to find pertinent information about the upcoming season.

To keep parity in our league, we will redraft the teams each season. The Board believes this will ensure the competitive equality amongst the teams.

Registration: Registration will be by mail only.

Form: Enclosed please find the Registration Form along with a return envelope for your convenience.

Fees: The Registration Fee this year is $85.00 per player; $150.00 per family. Please make the check payable to “Haverford Township Softball League”.

Address: Please mail the completed form, your check, and copy of your birth certificate (if you are new to the league) to:

Deadline: All registration forms, checks, and birth certificate copies are due by January 31, 2008.

Refund: Should you register by January 20, 2008, your name will be entered into a drawing for a full refund!!!

Post-Draft Registrations: Should you register after the March Draft, you will be added to the next team that was in line for a draft pick. Should the teams be full at this time, your name will be placed on a wait list.

Additional Players: The league is as good as you make it! Should you know of players in the area that you believe will be good additions to the league…Spread The Word!!!!! We are always looking for players and are interested in adding to the league. Tell friends, relatives, and friendly rivals!!!!

Mandatory Evaluations: In this league there are no “cuts”. However, to maintain parity among the teams, we are requesting that ALL PLAYERS attend at least one evaluation session. This allows the players to demonstrate their ability and talents and allows the players and coaches to meet each other. The evaluations will be held at the Haverford Middles School Gyms A & B on Saturday, February 16, 2008, from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM; and Sunday,

March 2, 2008, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Please visit our website www.htsoftball.org for additional information.

Draft: The draft will be held in March 2008.

Sponsors: Team Sponsors are a key to keeping our registrations fees affordable. A Sponsor Form is enclosed for any company or person interested in sponsoring a softball team, including our Del-Val Teams.

Volunteers: The key to a strong program lies in the many volunteers who do a wonderful job for our organization. Coaches, assistant coaches, and helpers, are always needed. Please volunteer to help!

Please remember, too, when you attend a game, that all Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Board Members are dedicating their personal time to make this league work and allow a friendly, yet competitive atmosphere. If you wish to make suggestions, please feel free to contact a Board Member.
